I have already subscribed to the annual subscription. In order to own the features (apart from those online resources) I wanted to pay the subscription payment for the next year, but I was told that it is only to keep you as a subscriber. It seems to me contradictory to what has been said in the discussions.

I don't understand what is meant by "that it is only to keep you as a subscriber."

The Legacy Fallback License is what you get to keep after you've been a subscriber for 24 consecutive months, per the subscription FAQ page.
