Importing slides with Animations

In the discussion on https://faithlife.com/posts/6000502 @Dave Chalmers mentioned that importing PowerPoint slides with animations on Mac results in multiple slides being created - one for each part of the animation build.

This is not the case on Windows - with just one slide being created showing the final state of the build.

Is this difference intended? And, if not, is there any mechanism to get the same behaviour on Windows as on Mac?
