I rarely use the Bible Word Study Guide as a whole although I use sections of it in other contexts This is for two reasons:
- It isn't old enough in its methodology to support the philology I was trained in
- It isn't modern enough in its methodology to support basic modern linguistics
Please add an etymology section to support philology. This should contain:
- root in PIE for Greek/Latin and PS for Hebrew/Aramaic/Syriac
- cognate words in related languages
- other words sharing the root
- decomposition of the word into its morphemes
- stems and conjugation/declination classes
Please add a constituent part of section. This should contain all the idioms, fixed phrases, collocations, cliches and other multi-word lexical units of which this word is a part.
Please add a related words section which includes:
- synonym/antonym
- hyponym/hypernym
- meronym/holonym
- polysemy/heteronym
- homonym/homophome/homograph
- troponym/pertainym
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
