Independently published resources (micro-publishers)

It is becoming more and more common for high quality books to be hidden away in self-publishing. My most recent example being nearly all the Mandean Scripture published by a retired professor. Other examples would be the writings of the Coptic Pope which have been available on their website for years. … I could list many others. I would like to see Logos have a publishing program specifically for these resources where you could reach out to students just finishing their dissertations and to mini-publishers as they are brought to you attention. You would initial offer them nothing more than exposure with royalties setting in only after a minimum number of units are sold. This approach would allow you to reach out to many of the smaller denominations whose publishing houses are nearly self-publishing. It would allow professors in obscure fields, e.g. Mandean scripture, to share their work with others, perhaps increasing the interest in their field. And, yes, it would allow you some editorial freedom to set guidelines for quality so that crackpots with multi-colored highly capitalized resources are screened out. It could even be shaped in a way to allow seminary professors to create their own textbooks. Ideally, you would also create an invitational brochure that Logos users could offer their favorite micro-publishers.
