When I was in college, Fritz Staal published https://www.amazon.com/Exploring-Mysticism-Methodological-Frits-Staal/dp/0520027264/ref%3Dsr_1_1? which was ground breaking in terms of how to study religion where you yourself is the only available test subject. Last night a Logos book request on Heiser's methodology (The Unseemly Realm: A Critical Analysis of the Writings of Michael S. Heiser — Logos Community) led me to Objectivity in Biblical Interpretation: Howe Ph.D., Thomas A.: 9781514149201: Amazon.com: Books (now on order) which brought me back to Staal's book. Do you know of any recent books on the study of the Christian experience/desired experience?
What a coincidence … I too was wandering thru Howe's books. But to the actual question (Staal), I don't.
