One of my steps in starting major new projects is to add Factbook tags to the relevant resources. Unfortunately, this is a very frustrating exercise that causes a dip in my confidence in Logos nearly every time I try to do so.
Example 1:
- I started at the Factbook entry for Candomblé .
- I used the search function in the Dig Deeper section to find occurrences that lacked the tag.
- When I saw similar terms nearby, I added Factbook tags to them as well. But my success was sporadic e.g. in the screen shot below, you see only 3 of the 5 had Factbook tags but there is no obvious reason that they are not all available.
Example 2
I was linking texts in a Bibliography to Writing records in Factbook. Again, an odd collection of what was and was not covered by Factbook surfaced. I can hardly push Factbook/Verbum when the data is so inconsistent, especially when it fails when users are most apt to need it.
If you want me to recommend Logos/Verbum to friends, the data has to more consistently "just work" without waiting decades for obviously needed entries to be created. You could scrape data on what users try to find in Factbook without success and what users try to add Factbook tags for to help Factbook grow to meet actual needs not theoretical needs.
