We Believe Series

Anyone familiar with this Systematic series, called We Believe. There is currently 3 volumes available on Logos. Want to know if someone has read some and can give advice if its worth adding.

If you value accessible, Reformed-leaning theology with solid scholarship, it’s a worthwhile addition. The volumes are praised for being readable and practical, though not as exhaustive as multi-volume classics. For most users, it’s a strong, modern resource for understanding core doctrines.

@Jason Stone (Logos) Thank you for the reply. So if I have the 4 vol Reformed Systematic Theology from J Beeke, then this is not necessary as both are reformed.

I really like Beeke's 4-volume series! They're both great so that's a tough call, honestly. We Believe would be a bit more of a summary and I'd say easier to digest than the academic heavy-weight that Beeke and Smalley published.

@Jason Stone (Logos) I thought so, but is something that will be overlapping each other or are they totally different that makes it worth having both.

Then are you familiar with this series. I am looking at this also but cant find any reviews.

Well, Crossway is a solid publisher of course—I'm a big fan—but the difference with that series would be approaching theological themes from different books of the New Testament rather than Lexham Academics' series that is built on doctrines.

I wouldn't say one is better than the other, and you would likely see some overlap while discussing particular doctrines or book themes.

Here's an unpolished example to explain: Crossway's series would be where I'd start if wanted to explore the theology of the book of Revelation, but Lexham's if I want a survey of the doctrine Son of God and Messiah (maybe even Eschatological Redemption in the Prophets) across canons. I'm not sure if that's helpful—apologies if that only adds confusion!

@Jason Stone (Logos) no confusion, I understand that they have different function in the way one focus's on doctrine on topic and the crossway series on theology of a book. But my question or concern is if they are a good series. I have not find any reviews, only on the volume of Acts one person gave a review and it was not so good. I can't even find them in physical copy in South Africa as the bookshop will not bring them in.

I just did a quick search and found a number of blog post book reviews (e.g., Books At a Glance) and remarks at Best Commentaries, which is a reputable site for providing insight on Christian academic resources. That said, it is a bit difficult finding star reviews on the series as a whole.
