Is there a bible translation comparable to the NRSV in German? What German translation is most used by academics and includes the apocrypha?
I think both the Luther- (protestant) and the Einheitsübersetzung (catholic) will do for academic use, both contain the apocrypha.
I agree with NB.Mick.
For the Lutherbibel 2017 (i.e. the latest edition) the translation of the apocrypha has been completely redone on the basis of the Greek text. In earlier editions (like the Lutherbibel 1984) the book of Tobit was translated from the latin text of the Vulgate.
The Einheitsübersetzung is catholic but I believe that the New Testament and the Psalms can also be considered as an ecumenical text.
Great. AI gave me the same answer. 😊 I already have the Einheitsübersetzung from the Verbum Biblicum package I bought. I also already have the Lutherbibel 2017 on my wishlist.
Thanks!

David Cochran Heath is not reading bible text at same speed as the bible text.
My Windows Logos is no longer copying citations even though the text is longer than 40 characters and "copy citations" is turned on.
