Is there a way, or setting, so that the mouse wheel can be used to move pages slowly up or down. Currently, when I roll the wheel, it moves me to the next page; there are times when I just want to move down a few lines. Thanks for the help.
This is most likely a side-effect of Page View. If you turn it off (under the View menu), it should scroll as you desire.
My screenshot is from the web app, but the desktop app should be similar.

I had erroneously assumed that a sidebar was tightly bound to a panel and that a panel was independent except for consciously added/definitional links. Therefore, I expected all 3 to be called sidebars. What is the distinction that you are making here?
