I own resources in English and German e.g. by Irenaeus, but they appear under differnt names. Is it possible to merge these?
You need to explain what you mean by "merge". e.g. you can relate them by putting them in the same Series or by tagging them.

I would like Logos to decide for one version of an author's name, e.g. "Irenaeus Lugdunensis (140-202)", and assign it to each and all works by this author, so that only this one version shows up in my library containing all of the author's works (see green arrow in the screenshot below taken from an university OPAC).
Other versions of the name could be carried in other data fields (see red arrow in the screenshot below).
Citavi, a third party library program, allows the user to merge names by himself:
I would prefer the first solution (done by Logos), but I would be also happy with the second one (done by the user).

I think a better solution was visible in the older Factbook format and in the handling of Bible book names - the recognition of synonyms via a reference table. Using a fixed name doesn't work well across alphabets and writing systems, Think Asian market.
I like MJ's solution better - and actually Logos uses a unique numerical identifier per author (as can be seen from shop searches) and thus would be able to facilitate that easily.

Sorry, I don't understand. What are you pointing out with "that"?
the merging of different author names under one ID. It would be easy if the ID is a (meaningless and already existing) number and all spellings and variants of the name are just attributes of that ID.

I like to follow the interesting AI question suggestions. "Ya, that's a good question. Let me ask." 😀 The grammar for the question is sometimes, "what does the Bible say about… " My complaint is it doesn't respond with what the Bible says about the subject, but what people say the Bible says about the subject. When the…
I asked the Ai Study Assistant to please use Yeshua in our Chats . It said it was programmed to only use the English Jesus. I then asked what do you call the Prophet of Islam ?The Ai Chat Assistant replied. Muhammad . I replied ,your correct , because thats his true Arabic name. I see a problem here . Why can the…
Greetings, while my request for “dark mode” within the browser seems silly, it is immensely helpful for late-night studies. I believe this request will make things easier in the eyes. Despite my many efforts, third-party applications that aim to fix this issue have not met the desired results as advertised.
When I drag to select a sentence, the right click selection menu is no good. I don't know why it auto-selects the whole passage instead of just giving the menu. Could you reverse the first option in the menu please: The desire is that by default the selection is kept when the menu is triggered and you would have to choose…
some of us have really large libraries when I do a passage guide, I have well over a hundred commentaries when I study a passage, I will come back to this guide multiple times I would like a way to at least check a resource so that I know I already looked at it. Ideally I would like a way to mark the ones I should go back…
