I'm reposting this as a bug report to hopefully get more attention:
Why doesn't the translation tool work on footnotes? The book I'm currently reading has voluminous notes in German, increasing in length as I progress through it. It's frustating that even though the program has the features, and I've paid money for it, I can't get it to translate text in footnotes. If it's a bug, it needs to be fixed. If it's a program deficiency, that's a shame, and it still needs to be fixed.
