I would like to recommend the newest (7th) edition of Alister McGrath and Matthew Thomas's Christian Theology, published in December 2024. This book has been recommended to me as an excellent resource regarding the evolution of Christian theology over the past two millennia. The Amazon page notes that this is designed for students with no prior knowledge of the subject. Having read portions of the latest edition I believe this would be an excellent resource for laypeople who are interested in serious study of the subject and would be a great addition to the Logos library.
