I signed up for the Dynamic toolbar through my University and now I would like to go back to my Legacy tool bar. How do i revert back to my previous arrangement?
I found something on the web that said I could do that, but the option is not present.
While it may be available to a small number of users, the vast majority of users do not have this option in Program Settings. You could speak with Logos customer service to see if they could temporarily switch your account back to the previous settings you had in connection with the university; however, Logos has communicated that the Dynamic toolbar will eventually be rolled out to all users.
What you found appears to be an AI result which is incorrect. While there was at one point a mechanism for developers and internal testers to switch to the old toolbar, this was never available publicly. Customer support will not be able to help you make this switch.
As Aaron mentioned, in an upcoming release all users will be using the dynamic toolbar, and the legacy toolbar will not be accessible, not even for developers and internal testers.
That is unfortunate. I have used Logos since before the present owners owned it, and I have gone through all the years of development. I also taught the program at the university level for about 6 years. Logos has consistently made changes that complicated the program and actually made it more difficult for users. This has been done without allowing long time users to continue to use the formatting they have worked hard to create for themselves over years. These last changes have frankly made a mess of something that was fairly easy to use.
I am a university professor. I continually find that there is a level of personnel above us that make decisions that impact the way we all work and teach, but they are people who do not teach themselves and so do not see the process from our vantage point. They make our work harder. You all are the developers, and you are doing the same to us who are just trying to do Bible Study, preparing to teach and preach, and do not need all your bells and whistles to make that happen. And now you have complicated our work. For you, this is probably an exciting set of changes. For many of us, you have made a mess and made Logos all that much harder to use.
I understand. For a program like Logos, you have to continually make changes to justify paying the developers and to continue to make money. But I would urge you to remember the reason why the program was created in the first place. you are not helping people by making things more complicated, and by continually changing the way the program works.
Well, as much as I agree with you, FL says the new thing is more 'discoverable' (as if their new design was just about the only solution they could think of).
I don't update. And won't for the foreseeable future (in FL parlence 'forever'). My Logos is absolutely great as-is.
Now, James:
@Andrew Batishko I've found quite a few AI-generated results about Logos that were incorrect (mostly saying things I could do in the web app or the mobile app that are only in the desktop, but also other stuff).
I assume y'all know it's out there, but if you didn't, it's out there. I doubt there's anything that can be done about it, but it is unfortunate for users who don't know where to come (like here) for help.
@Doc B - it's not "out there" - it's what AI assumes based on what is out there. AI is consistently wrong in most areas if you ask for details rather than a wide overview.

I find it 'very' difficult to change the 'preferred' bible. Please tell me the best way to do this!
Has anyone found a way to perform a backup of multiple presentation files. Leaving one church to go to another. When I exit the group, I still need access to my presentations.
I have several Bible audio files. Is it possible to have it work with its proper Bible instead of using the machine audio when selecting “read aloud"?
Recently I've been thinking a lot about how to ask good questions and, as a result, wanted to create an exhaustive list of every question Jesus asked. I thought that this would be a great use of the Study Assistant but the response from the AI search was as follows: The provided search results don’t directly address a…
Using the software reminds me of the early days with AOL and Microsoft. Constant slowdowns, even scrolling through a page… Are there any suggestions as to what steps I can take to speed up the software? Not a logging issue.
