I've said this before, and I'll keep saying it. When I turn on the option for no banners in a program, my expectation is I won't see banners.
Please fix the option to remove them.
Also, please don't add this junk to something I've already paid for.
The option for no banners in Program Settings pertains to the primary workspace of the application and does not affect banners that appear on the dashboard. Are you still seeing banners in the workspace?
Yes I realise, but I'm saying - what's the point of having an option to disable banners if Logos just add banners in anyway? For example, the Legacy Edition banner on the Dashboard, which is basically an advert.
It sounds to me like you are suggesting that this new change should be integrated into the banner setting on the dashboard, so that turning the banner off (for those who have this option) would also make this new element go away. If this is what you are suggesting, I recommend you make a product suggestion here and see if you can gather some support for the idea.
Sorry, late back to this thread. Product suggestion systems like that just don't work. The ones that have hundreds of votes get the development time, assuming the developers also decide that's what they want to work on.
I would have to either run a massive campaign, or hope that hundreds of people wander by my suggestion, also see it, are also experiencing what I am, also feeling motivated enough to vote, and then the developers decide to work on it. The chances of that are zero.
Logos should just do what's right. If you have an option to get rid of banners, it shouldn't be my responsibility to suggest it does what it says on the tin. It should just do what it says on the tin.
… I never use the dashboard. Don’t see a point. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Aaron, I have to agree with @joel on this one. If we turn off banners, then banners should be off. Everywhere. That's not rocket-surgery.
[FWIW, the forums are no longer popping up a name list when I type '@'.]
I agree with @Joel as well. Lately, Logos has been piling the Dashboard with what is, to me, plain junk. First, it was the smart search bar (I still loathe it), now it's the 'what you own/what you're subscribed to' banner (I loathe this atrocity as well).
Some people can't tell what they own or what they're subscribed (or how to find that out!), so Logos has to push this info in everyone's face. Apparently, the discreet label at the topmost left is not enough. What about the option to click on your profile pic to get that info? Nah. And just forget the About Logos page! All these are useless for telling you what you have. It. Must. Be. Right. In. Your. Face. All the time. No other options.
In other words, more of Logos's everybody gets a car approach.
When they introduce the Logos-branded dancing clowns to my dashboard, I'll have no choice but to open to a blank layout 🤷🏽♀️
