I was reading something this morning in Logos and came upon a term I'd never encountered, before: "chorbishops." I double-clicked on it, which usually brings up a dictionary with a definition, but in this case I guess it couldn't find it in any dictionary I have, so it did an "All" Smart Search. I rarely do "All" searches, and have been moving cautiously with AI, but I was FLABBERGASTED to discover that this "All" search gave me very appropriate and very helpful excerpts from many books about what a "chorbishop" is, including many FROM BOOKS I DON'T OWN!!!
Wow! Very cool, very helpful! As I hoped, I found that if I clicked on one of the "locked" books, it opened it up to show me what it was and offered me the opportunity to buy it if I wanted, all of which was helpful, but what amazed me was that this allowed me to search AND GET ANSWERS from books I DON'T OWN! I don't know how that works, but it was really helpful!
I see a few people on this forum complaining very bitterly about these AI tools, and I, too, have been very cautious with AI, am NOT an "early adopter," but the more I use Logos's new tools not in theory but in real life, the more helpful I discover they actually are.
Thanks, Logos! :)
One thing I think I've seen suggested here before that I agree with is that it would have been even cooler if it had sorted the results to show books I own first, at the top of the list, followed by "locked" books I don't own. Instead, it mixed them all together, I suppose in order of pertinence, I don't know.
Anyway, just wanted to say this was a really cool and unexpected (to me) AI-related Logos tool!
