Why does Notes "Search" box get selected when I click on a note or press N?

When I press the note icon in my book/Bible OR press N after selecting, it opens the notes tab and then immediately selects the search function.

I don't want it to select the search but go straight to the typing of the note. This would allow me to easily type without having to click and select the notes text box. How can I make this happen please?
