Is there a way for Logos Pro to list out all the books owned on a particular subject? For example, Biblical Criticisms.
You can sort your library if in details view by Type. However it is the Type as set up by Logos. Many books are not categorized, but simply tagged Monograph.
Now if you know the subject, then open library in detail view and on the left under Filter open the Subject drop down and scroll or do a filter search. You should get a good idea of Subjects from the scroll down menu.
Hope this helps
Thank you John, thst helped. Do you know the Subject material is organized? The first group was not alphabetical but when continuing on down to the second grouping they do appear alphabetical. However, I had several groups of alphabetical listings rather than one large group that alphabetically arranged. I have about 2 dozen dictionaries and enclclopedias in my library. When I wanted to do some research on Biblical Criticism (I didn't see that in the pull down Subject Matter) I had to open each volumn separately and search the table of contents. Is there any way for Logos to search all the books in my library for a subject that does not appear in the pull down subject Matter?
I would suggest you create a collection of your dictionaries and then run a book search selecting the collection, then from the "all text" drop down select search field and then select "heading text" and "large text". In the search box type "Biblical Criticism" with quotes. See below:
Hope this helps.
Thank you, John, I
Perhaps an easier way to find library resources on a specific topic is FactBook. Open FactBook and type Biblical Criticism and select from dropdown.
John,
These are all excellent helps! I’ve been using/learning Logos for a couple of years now but never got around to understanding the search techniques. And then when “Pro” was introduced I relied on the Smart search. Again, thank you so much for these tips.

Build your biblical library with a new trusted commentary or resource every month. Yours to keep forever.
So with the recent (and welcome) changes to study assistant allowing you to only query your own books, I thought i'd create myself a collection of the commentaries, dictionaries etc I like. But the collections tool is hard to use - or am I doing something wrong? I can do a query like 'BST' and it shows me all the BST…
Are there any plans for the Smart search to include searching my Notes as well as my books/resources? I recently asked it specifically to search my Notes, in hopes of finding information I may have dealt with in the past, but it indicated that was not possible. Thanks for any update. Dennis Toll
Bibleworks allowed users to choose from portions of the Bible that had descriptive headers. Example: Exodus 2:1 - Birth and Youth of Moses Logos only lists chapters with no descriptive headings. How can I get the same function that Bibleworks offered in Logos?
I just noticed that the most recent update of my desktop Logos (legacy) has had the "fuzzy" search option removed, leaving only the option to subscribe for "Smart" search for other than "Precise" search. Is the former fuzzy search no longer available? If it still available, how to do I restore it as an option?
I own The Babylon Talmud and Jerusalem talmud . Logos has not organized the volumns as are my hard copies. Im trying to find Yoma 39a. This info is vital in our sharing the Gospel.40 years before the distruction of the Temple the Red Rag never again turned white . The menorah would not stay lit and the doors of the Temple…
