I am wondering if there is anything left to be a "quick fix" as users expect. Yes, I am serious. Given the number of platforms you support, some with their own code base, how much overhead of checking the code out, checking the code in, inserting code in beta, releasing code, updating documentation etc. is there beyond making the patch and alpha testing it? I am asking because of "simple" requests such as put the filter categories in bold
that users expect action on [this is not an actual expectation but a hypothetical expectation in this case], ask in the forums for updates on [more frequently that releases occur], and get annoyed at the length of time before they see any action. Knowing a rough estimate of the overhead for changes would be a good step towards managing expectations.
