REFORM layouts, to actually work that is.

Is anyone else having these issues? Layouts should be one of the most helpful tools to keep organized but are one of the worst functioning apps within Logs. I always have a minimum of four layouts for the different studies I am doing, yet I consistently have problems with the "update active" functionality, in that they do not update correctly. Instead, they reopen with older versions. Worse, is how the "snapshots" litter the entire app with useless layouts. Should you delete the wrong one of these snapshots you wind up deleting your whole layout, without recourse for getting it back, other than rebuilding entirely from scratch. I have reinstalled Logos, I have called support to no avail, and quite frankly to great disappointment. I remember in the old days when calling support was like calling an old friend, no longer.

Do you name your layouts? The differentiation would help when it comes to deleting snapshots. As you only have four main layouts, you can also consider placing them on your dashboard for easy access.

As for 'update active' not working, I've never run into this issue, so maybe something is happening under the surface on your end.

I make a fair amount of use of snapshots. I tend to rely on snapshots rather than updating the layout for most of my layouts which tend to be project oriented. However, I have had no problems with updating the layouts failing. If you could provide screen shots and details of what you are doing, perhaps we could help unravel what is going wrong.

I do name the layouts, but should I delete the last snapshot of a named layout, the named layout is deleted along with the snapshot. Since, I often navigate to multiple layouts I have, on any given day, I get a host of snapshots. The only way to determine what they are of is to enter the snapshot layout. All of which is time consuming and exceedingly annoying.

My work around is to keep the last time stamped snapshots, but with multiple snapshots of different layouts, it is not possible to know which snapshots belong to which layouts.

Anther annoyance is taht the layout dialogue window closes each time you select a layout. IT would be better if it remained opened to either update multiple layouts in a row, or better still allow for control selection of the named layouts and update them all at once.
