I've seen various commenters (on older threads) eager for news about EEC or EBTC, so here's where things stand at the start of 2026.
Evangelical Exegetical Commentary
- 1–2 Kings (Oswalt) released in 2025
- Ezekiel (Goldingay) is completed and available as of about a week ago for owners of the full EEC collection
- James (Crowe) is in proofreading
- John (Kostenberger) is in typesetting (why are we still typesetting? so you can have page milestones)
- Leviticus (Goldingay) has been copyedited
- 1 Peter (Glenny) is being copyedited
- Joshua (Hawkings) is ready for copyediting
Evangelical Biblical Theology Commentary
- Deuteronomy (Millar) released in 2025
- 1 Corinthians (Starling) released in 2025
- Genesis (Alexander) comes out this month
- Revelation (Schnabel) is ready for copyediting
- Philippians (Moo) is ready for copyediting
- Hosea-Micah (Petterson) is ready for copyediting
Before you ask when these will all come out, note that most of these are at a "copyediting" stage. That's essentially the beginning of the editorial process. Each of these are complicated academic works that take a knowledgeable editor and several editorial passes. I have one other editor on my team. I can't give any firm dates on when things will be finished and released. I hope to get at least 3 volumes out for each series and have more close to ready by the end of the year. My team is also responsible for the Research Commentaries (several volumes in editorial and Context Commentary (John should get added this year, OT work is stalled).
I'm encouraged that so many volumes have been received, though, because we have something to work with. More many years we were waiting on the authors. I will get these out as quickly as we are able to work through editing on each one.
