I am a new (2 months) user of Logos software, and trying to incorporate my "old" way of studying with this new tool.
One way that I like to study, is that I take a junk of text (let's say John 3), and have a piece of paper where I write down everything that comes to my mind as I read. Questions, insights, experiences, text critical notes, points to make in a possible future sermon etc.
Besides this, I write sermons (for which there is an excellent tool), but also make manuscripts for podcast episodes, write articles for Christian magazines and so on.
Of course I can just open a Word document on my computer, and do this with Logos on another screen. But I'm looking for a way that I can do this thing integrated in the Logos system. I guess this is something that others do as well?
The options I see so far:
- Sermons. I can make all of these as a sermon. There is a useful text document where I can write whatever i want, and then access it later on.
But: It mixes my sermons with my non-organized bible study-notes, podcast episodes and magazine articles. - Canvas. Good for drawing lines and make visual studies. But not really for most of the things I mentioned above.
- Bible study document. I thought that I had found my solution in the "Bible study"-document. But that one seems based around questions and blocks. Maybe useful for my unorganized bible study notes, but not anything else.
Have I missed something? Wouldn't it be very easy for Logos to have just a text document option, where one could give it a name, and then tag it as I want (sermon, podcast, devotional, lecture, bible study, article, etc)?
Very thankful for any feedback :) God bless!
