Is it possible to run Logos Desktop as a free and as a subscriber?

I'm a Logos Pro user subscriber but would like to see the capabilities of the free version.

I created another logos account and can use the free logos web app. However, I'd also like to check the free version of logos desktop & mobile apps.

Is this possible using two logos accounts under the same Windows/mobile account? Basically, using logos Desktop/mobile as two different logos users, one free & one subscriber, without creating another Windows/mobile user account.

Additionally - If I must create a new Windows user, fine. But, would logos Desktop need to be installed under this new windows account?

Yes, just download Verbum (https://verbum.com/get-started) and log in with your free account there. The differences are basically cosmetic. Lots of beta testers keep both installed so that they can have a stable version if something goes wrong.

Actually, I think there is a way to run both under the same Windows user: as it is not feasible to install a second instance of Logos, install Verbum instead. This is nearly the identical look, feel and functionality (you can even run it in Logos-mode) - it will show some different content on the home page and I understand it will have some different results in the AI-driven smart search, but other than that it's the same program.

I run Verbum beta, Logos gold, and Logos free all under the same Windows account with two Logos accounts - one which is for the Logos free version only. I've had no problems with this arrangement.

However, MJ Smith. You say "I run Verbum beta, Logos gold, and Logos free " Logos free - is this accomplished by signing in to Logos Desktop with the "free" user account? Or is "logos free" a separate "free version" install?

From the comments it seems like Verbum is the way to go…Thoughts…??

I use free both as a user signin option and as a separate installation but that is because of how I use virtual desktops and respond in the forums. For most use cases it wouldn't be necessary.

The simple answer is "yes", and I think some of the other answers on this thread are trying to make it too complicated. 😀

Click your profile picture in the lower left of the Logos Desktop main window, and click "New user". Then sign in with your other logos.com account. Afterwards, you can switch quickly between the two accounts by using that same profile menu. (You can only run one at a time with this approach.)
