The Prayer Book Psalter: Picture Book Edition is a new collectors edition of the Book of Psalms which offers readers the complete text of the 1928 Book of Common Prayer Psalter with 214 high-resolution images of illustrations from historic Church art from the early 9th C. to the 16th C, including 165 images from the Stuttgart Psalter, produced in the Scriptorium, Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Pres, Paris, circa 820 A.D. during the reign of Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne, and 49 images from other Psalters, Books of Hours, Breviaries from the 11th to the 16th C. The Psalter text from the 1928 Book of Common Prayer (American Edition) is generally placed on the right side with commentary and illustrations on the facing page. The Psalter text is set in Luminare, a modern type face resembling hand-lettered Carolingian-period script. Each Psalm begins with a colored scroll and enlarged initial capital letter prepared exclusively for this edition and the first words of each Psalm in Vulgate Latin. Includes Bibliography, Sources of Illustrations (cross-refenced to Psalm number) and additional information about the AIC's video series, podcasts and Bookstore Publications.
This is good resource for reading psalter with iconic picture from Stuttgart Psalter.
I wish to get this book in LOGOS, and it must be helpful to all other LOGOS users.
Thanks.
