I have asked this question before but never got an answer which would be useful permanently. Obviously a calendar devotional will open to today's date when you click the link to it. But opening several devotionals today and saving them as a layout then opening them tomorrow always opens them to the date they were saved using update active. I asked the study guide this question:
how do i use a layout to open several calendar devotionals to today's date

I asked Grok the same question and it actually gave me a step by step procedure which I have followed though I have to wait until tomorrow to test it. The actual answer would eventually be "Here is how you open a file using a date key field to position the record".
