Does it violate copyright to paste Bible verses from Logos NABRE to social media pages as long as the chapter, verse and source is identified in the paste?
If the copyright does not allow under what auspices can it be done, if at all?
There is some guidance on this here - does this give you what you need?
I would assume that the Bible publishers would hold copyright to their versions.
As long as you're posting single Bible versions or a couple verses at a time as Bible artwork for a ministry page on social media, it should be OK (same way people do it with the ESV, NASB, etc), especially if it's the preferred Bible of your church/ministry.
If you're trying to export the entire Bible on your church's website outside of Logos to give people access to the entire Bible for free, that would be a problem, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're wanting to do.
Maybe a bit of nuance to Nathan's post: many bible publishers allow quoting of verses in what would be considered normal church context, however, the individual rules set up for this are different from publisher to publisher. One reason the ESV is quoted so much in protestant contexts on the web is that the publisher wisely put a much more lenient usage policy than other publishers - and the creation of NET was argued for (among other reasons) with the need for a bible which allows more freely for such usage. The respective page of the NABRE rights holders, i.e. the USCCB https://www.usccb.org/offices/new-american-bible/permissions#:~:text=The%20copyright%20for%20the%20New%20American%20Bible%2C,of%20a%20single%20book%20of%20the%20Bible strikes me as very complex and from a quick read over I wouldn't feel free to say "it's okay, go for it" or "no way, forget about it" - it may be the prudent idea to ask them.
Graham Criddle's recommendation helped.
I issued a email to permissions@faithlife.com for my particular situation and the response was that I am permitted to "to paste bible verses from Logos, NABRE to social media pages as long as the chapter, verse and source is identified in the paste".
The key issues are; I am a subscriber, it is for personal use, it is for non-commercial use.
Thank you for all who responded, I appreciate your time and effort.
I recommend that if anyone has a question about a particular situation on this matter that they email

Thanks.

Any chance someone might simply explain what Logos is doing when it differentiates "lemmas" from "other lemmas" in the EG subsection? The latter seem to be the results of a broader search, perhaps based on a match.nomarks type of search? In the ex. below, the first "other lemma" search result refers to a type of root with…
I keep hearing about the Book of 1st Enoch. I realize that there’s multiple authors when we get into 2nd & 3rd Enoch, so I’m specifically asking about 1st Enoch. I hasten to say that I realize that it has some historical value, but is there a work that solidly demonstrates (factually) why it isn’t canonical? This is NOT to…
I feel like I am missing something obvious, but I can't figure it out. If I have the ESV open and I want to add the NIV and BHS as a parallel, as an example, I can click the view button and type the NIV and it adds. Then if I type the BHS the BHS replaces the NIV and I can't figure out how to get both the NIV and BHS to be…
Say I want to create a collection based around abortion. I type that into the library search and get 17 books. I do a books search for the same term and get results from books that discuss it, but don't have the keyword in its metadata. These books would be useful in a collection, but I don't know of an easy way to tag…
Overnight I was charged for the updates to the Master Journal Library and Galaxie’s Theological Journal Library, vols. 1–28. The MJL downloaded the new resources, but nothing came down from Galaxie; it was supposed to be the list below. Did anyone get these, meaning my system needs a jolt to get the downloads going, or was…
