Will "short cuts" and "layouts" be "smoother" when optimization takes place?
First let me preface the following by saying that I have not used L3 for the last 2 weeks. Everything that has been done, was done with L4. And by the end of b4 the software appeared to be very much improved from when I commented in b1 about "feeling like I was wearing "oven mitts.". b5 & b6 have continued that sense of improving progress.
(However), presently, at least on my machine, the shortcuts and layouts seem 'fragile" "sluggish" etc.
Layouts must continually be re re-named, closed and then re-opened in order to be dragged as short cuts etc. Once up on the shortcut bar there is no option for a "save-resave" button/capability, or at least one that is visible or intuitive. In order to prevent "shut-downs" during the "re-naming" the cursor must be in just the correct "sweet" spot.
And yes, these may be "minor" annoyances, but when trying to get work done or meet deadlines etc they really make me pine for the old "workplaces" etc. Yes, I could go back to L3, but during beta testing you are asking that we try to make this as fair a "test' as possible, correct?
I'm not sure what to ask for, [besides a Save/re-save button] so I'm using the term "optimization" (If indeed, that process will effect the behavior of the shortcuts and layouts).
Steve
Compared to b1, I feel that now I could at least give some one new to L4 an "intelligent" tour of the software.

Agree. It needs to be optimised.
