MAC Convert files to be included in Libronix Library

Is it possible to convert files (Word Processing Documents, PDF Files) so that they could be included in the MAC Version of Libronix Library? If so - what is the process, what are the tools required to do that? If not available - are there any plans to include such a feature? This would be most helpful.

Currently the only way to do that is through the Personal Book Builder add-in.

I have never used the product, and so can't comment on it, but there is a healthy user community that is dedicated to adding user and public domain materials through the tool who will probably be glad to give you advice and information.

Pastor Thomas Black's web site www.stilltruth.com has a large selection of PBB (Personal Book Builder) files for downloading. These can give you an idea of what can be accomplished through this approach. Here's a link to the page: http://www.stilltruth.com/page/libronix_pbb_files

As I recall, PBBs have very limited functionality as one cannot tag much of the text for linking or special searching. Essentially when built correctly these become files that Libronix can read and search the surface text of (and some other tagged elements), but they are more like Libronix PDF files than full-fledged Libronix resources.

There is also a Sermon File Add-in that allows one to take documents generated in MS Word (or in other programs) and with some limited formatting options, create a file that can be read in Libronix.

I've found no way to incorporate PDF's.However, for word processing documents you have seveal options based upon the type of searches you want to do:

1) note files serve when the document ties nicely to a single text or a broad topic

2) sermon/illustration provides for multiple citations and topics - ends up on Logos sermons if you're not careful but it allows for sharing through the Logos sermon site

3) PBB allows a full range of indexing if you're willing to put the effort in - and it can be shared with others

PBBs do not run on the Mac version [:'(] Hopefully they will in the near future.

I have to put PDFs and Word documents in another programme called DEVONthink. The search capabilities are very similar to a Bible programme in this piece of software, including "fuzzy search" and the ability to generate a "concordance".

Donovan - thanks - how does this integrate with Libronix? Once you convert using DEVONthink - then what do you do with the file to import it into Libronox in order that it shows up in the Library list?

I think Donovan is referring to using a second stand-alone program to gather and allow searching of his other documents. There is no way to convert a file so that it can be used in Libronix on the Mac. Sorry. A feature often requested but only partially implemented in Windows and not at all (so far) for the Mac.
