12 Days--Is the Spurgeon Deal a Steal?

What do you think? I've not been tracking the price on this set. Seems like a good price?

If you want it it isn't a bad price, higher than when it was on pre-pub but probably the best you will see.
Personally if you don't have Spurgeon's Sermons those would be money better spent. If you already have them and feel the need for what is in this collection you have over 12 hours to decide.

unfortunately my wallet has already decided for about any deal I imagine seeing. A good price is still an expense.

I'm much enjoying Spurgeon's autobiography, but think that will keep me occupied for the foreseeable future. Price does look good, if you want all those volumes of Spurgeon.

I don't consistently read Spurgeon's Morning and Evening. How would I find time to read this collection?

I do occasionally like to see what Spurgeon does with things, but don't feel like I need him in my personal library. His works are readily available online whenever I want to look at them. I am not convinced that I need to own this collection for what would be an occasional glance.

Garrett,
I agree that Spurgeon's sermons are a much better deal at just under $100. I have all of the sermons and everything in the Spurgeon collection in PDF format from another publisher a few years back. I have read Spurgeon extensively - both sermons and other writings. For me personally, the sermons are far more helpful. They capture Spurgeon at his best - in the pulpit. They are also useful to consult when you are preparing your own messages. They are great for devotional reading. The other writings are good (after all they are Spurgeon) but I have benefitted far more from the sermons.
The Autobiography is very inspiring and helps to understand Spurgeon the man. "Lectures to my Students" should be read by every minister - one of the ten best books I have ever read. "The Soul Winner" is a classic as well and likewise should be read by every not just every minister, but every Christian. Other than these volumes, I find what is in the rest of the collection to be good, but not as good as the sermons.
