Syntax features are currently disabled because the necessary resources are currently unavailable
I receive this error message when trying to perform a syntax search. In another thread, the problem was related to the old Lexham syntax graphs, and the solution was to open another syntax search from another database using the file menu. I have tried this, but I cannot add search terms to a search using any of the databases. Any thoughts?

Did you upgrade to Beta 9? If so I think the resources are coming this Monday.

David,
I was getting this error, but I rolled back to an "image" of beta 1, redownloaded all of the gb of updates all day and my syntax resources work fine...
It doesn't make sense.

Only that I avoided much of the carnage by seeing what was going on with B7/8 before I installed B8 and now B9. I can run (and construct) Syntax searches in OpenText but I had avoided running any in Lexham Syntax Graphs. It seems you either find a workaround or wait until next week.

Bradley has said that there is a bug in one of the updaters...that's why my install was broken for syntax searching.
It works now...must have "bypassed" that buggy updater. [;)]

The message appears because the Syntax Databases you have are either missing or out of date (i.e. the app cannot open them). There was a change to the syntax features that requires updated databases in Beta 7. If the latest syntax resources were not successfully updated on your machine, the feature would be disabled.
As Robert mentions, there was an issue with updates getting out to some. Additionally, the Lexham Syntax Graphs resource wasn't updated because it was replaced by the Cascadia Syntax Graphs resource (same data; new name).
Once the up-to-date syntax resources reach your machine, the features should be enabled once again.

Great! Glad to have that confirmed. I'm looking forward to the newest update [:)]

I am able to do a syntactical search using the object of a preposition template with the Open Text resource, but not the Cascadia or Lexham Syntactical New Testament (didn't try with the Lexham Syntax Graphs in light of your comment above). Is this normal? I get templates in Cascadia, not in Lexham. I tried the very same search Prepositional Object, entered g:οικια and get 52 results with Open Text. It never seems to finish with Cascadia.
Have no idea when it downloaded any resources, but it must have, I guess.

Interesting. I just ran the Cascadia template for Prepositional Object for g:oikia and get 54 results. I am able to run the OpenText.org template and get 52 results. (OpenText.org has οικια not as the object but a modifier of the object in Lu 9.4; Cascadia has οικια as the head of the phrase object; Lu 10.5 has a similar situation -- gotta love having a second opinion on these things).
One offhand thought: I know that I find myself hitting "enter" to select the word from the untransliteration list (g:oikos, hit enter) and then forget that I need to hit enter or "Go" again to actually start the search.
We've not yet been able to get together templates for the still-in-process Lexham Syntactic Greek New Testament (need to complete Mark, Luke, John and Acts still, but these are well under way). This is a much different data base anyway, and lends itself less to searching and more to detailed, passage-sensitive exegetical work (the combination of the graphs and the "Expansions and Annotations" resource is fairly helpful in such situations). So there are no templates there yet.
Hope this helps. I'm curious if the templates in the Andersen-Forbes Hebrew work for you? How about the English Prep. Phrase template in Cascadia?

RIck,
I've just gone through the update process to what I guess is RC1, unless it is final - it only shows as L4 with no build notes. I've also downloaded 24 mb of resources and finished indexing - this is all context.
I tried the same searches and get the same results. Cascadia never finishes. I get the line "Syntax Search Searching . . . and the Resources box, but nothing else.
With Andersen-Forbes I get only one template subject verb. I entered דַוִד ראה (not good with this keyboard "David sees") and got 3 results in 1 article (not sure what the article is) 1 Sam 23:15; 26:5 and 2 Sam 12:19
So, it works, but are there more templates?
Here's a screen shot:
An issue I have with these is that the search parameters dissappear, so in a complex search I might not be sure what I'm looking at or what error I might have made.
Anyway, any help with Cascadia you can give would be great. Would logs help?

Rick,
Also tried an English Prepositional Object template. Entered "Into the house" (sure if I'm supposed to put a phrase or just the object) - no results. Tried it with just "house" which came as a one of the suggestions. No results. Same things.
BTW, Open text took 8 seconds to find the 52.

Hey guys, there is a new update of the resources (about 500 MB) after you install the RC1 version of Logos. See Bradley's announcement here.

This tells me that you've got an older version of the Andersen-Forbes resources, and probably an older version of the Cascadia resource. Resource updates for RC1 were pushed out later last night, so my guess is you have resource updates to do (I have 948MB downloading on my home machine as I type this). Bradley noted in other posts that if you were updating at the same time that resource updates were pushed, you might not have retrieved all resources available for you.
On the "article" in this context — at present, the entire syntax database is the article.
An issue I have with these is that the search parameters dissappear, so in a complex search I might not be sure what I'm looking at or what error I might have made.
Yes, this issue is known and has been reported. My understanding is that it is slated for fixing, I just don't quite know when.
Alternately, know that you can actually open a template in the syntax search editor and then edit it.

Rick,
I'm fully downloaded and my Cascadia searches never finish either... [:(]

Bohuslav is right, there is more updating once I opened this morning. I've got 883 mb coming. I'll try it again after that.

Okay, I've downloaded everything, I think
I tried an Andersen Forbes search - English Subject: (have many templates) on "David" and got 453 resultsin 11 secs. Seems good
I tried an Open Text English Prepositional Object in the NT (I have new-to-me templates) on "house" and got 79 results in 8 seconds. Seems good (guess more words translate to house for them than just oikia
I tried a Cascadia English Prepositional Object in the NT (don't notice any different templates) on "house" and get nothing. Just shows "searching" as it did before. Anything I can do to help you figure out what's happening?

I just did an update now command and am downloading another 21 mb
We'll see if that affects Cascadia.

All right. Cascadia, NT, English Prepositional Object 83 hits 6 seconds.
Thanks, Logos folks.

Me too....except it was 83 results in 24 seconds...
