Hi. My interest is in OT TC (Textual Criticism). Can you advice me as to the best Logos package deal?
Philip, none of the Logos packages are too good for textual criticism as is. However, the SESB (Stuttgart Electronic Study Bible), available as an add-on package to Logos has the state of the art OT textual apparatus.
To take advantage of this, you'd want at least the Original Languages or Scholar's Library and then the SESB for Logos Users package.
And you'll probably also want the BHS Helps Collection. http://www.logos.com/product/5962/bhs-helps-collection
Someone mentioned in another thread, that the cheapest way to get Scholars is to get Original Languages and then upgrade for another $50, if I remember rightly. Could be worth checking out
Original Languages includes Tov's parallel aligned MT\LXX. You get the Logos\Lexham Greek Hebrew Interlinear Septuagint which is nice but you don't get the alternative texts of the LXX (Theodotion's Daniel for instance) if you take the Silver edition you get the alternative texts of the LXX but lose Tov's MT\LXX. If you want everything you need to get the Gold library. As for SESB, it gives you only the apparatuses of BHS (and a few BHQ apparatuses Deuteronomy, Ezra, Nehemiah and The Five Scrolls). I have a printed copy of BHS and almost never use it. If you feel you need the assistance of the editor or if you are not well versed in Biblical Hebrew and Koine Greek, SESB may be best for you.
