I'm really happy with the direction in which the Home Page is headed in many respects.
Things which I appreciate:
1. The presence of a Bible Reference indicating what the excerpt is referring to and the presence of bibliographical information for all excerpts:
2. The fairly subtly use of bold and italics in the excerpts proper makes them more readable and draws the eye. The use of a grey shade for the Bibliography Reference as well as a smaller font makes it immediately distinguishable from the excerpt proper.
3. Over time, the fonts for headings have improved immeasurably.
4. The changing of orphan controls for bibliographical references. They now can be split across columns.
5. The presence of longer excerpts in the 150-200 word range.
6. The presence of 25 word excerpts - short and sweet.
7. There has been a marked improvement in the wording of the headings.
8. I really like the subtle icon for the pericope of the day.
Things which I would change:
1. A slightly heavier title font for the daily devotionals. The weight of the current title font against the darker blue background makes it harder to read:

3. A slightly less sparkly Book of the Day icon (see above)
4. Bible References which are clearly indicated as hotlinks. I would also right justify them:

6. Do not run a passage guide when I click on a bible reference. I simply want to look at the broader context.
7. Do not close down all my open resources when I click on an excerpt. I simply want to read more from that excerpt.
8. I would not open a bible with devotionals, excerpts, etc. (others disagree)
9. Enable images to be viewed on smaller screens - I get no piccies on my 10.1" screen.
10. Please place an excerpt between blue things. Page 1 of my home page today:
11. I get too many large blank spaces. Even more now with Beta9 than before. Today's pages 2 and 3:
12. Change the Welcome Message from one that "fades away" over several days to one that disappears after a few uses.
13. The ability to report typos.
14. I'll say it again. Get rid of the top ribbon.
15. The ability to remove any items (pericope; devotionals; book of the day).
