Problem with Greek 03 Context crashing most media players at 51 seconds

My new Greek03 Context crashes Windows Media Player (ver 12.0.7600.16667), RealPlayer (ver 14.0.1.609) and iTunes (ver 10.1.1.4) at 51 seconds.
(Running on Windows 7, 64 bit.)

Interestingly, Nero 10 Media Hub can play beyond the 51 second problem.

Comments

  • Can replicate on Windows 7 Ultimate (OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1); QuickTimePlayer 7.69.80.9 crashes couple sentences later than Windows Media Player (12.0.7600.16667).

Unable to replicate on Mac OS X 10.6.6 nor iPad 4.2.1 (after handbrake conversion).

I get exactly the same thing happening (Windows XP). Does anybody know a work around, please? Presumably Logos had someone sit down and watch all these before issuing the revised disks. If so, they must have a solution.

Hi Owen - and welcome to the forums

http://community.logos.com/forums/p/26322/207405.aspx#207405 suggests a workround of using Quicktime

Later on in that thread there is a statement that the problem has been fixed and is being tested.

I, too, have had problems with video #3 crashing at just 51 seconds in. I was told to download the VLC media player. Works great!

I just received my copy of Heb and Gk with Logos.  Firstly, the WMV files dont seem to be included, only the QT ones.  Anyway, the links from the first page that show up don't work.  So, I transferred them to my hard drive, at least QT plays them, but also crashes at this exact point.  How frustrating for such an expensive product!!!

IE 9, Windows Media Player 12, most current QuickTime, Safari, and iTunes - none of them run #3 beyond 48 seconds for me.  Moving it from the DVD to the HD doesn't help, so the problem is definitely in the file. Agree with those who ask if these things are checked all the way through before shipping, and who say that it's pretty frustrating to encounter this in such an expensive product. Will we be notified when there's a solution?

    Welcome [:D]

Apologies; not know when for version 3 update.  Thankful for download link on my orders page for version 2 videos.

Quicktime workaround is dragging indicator (vertical bar) a couple seconds past crash point, then pressing play.
