A while back I downloaded Logos 4 on my laptop, but inadverantly downloaded it in my husbands logon name, and it does not show up when I log into my name. I was just wondering why and how do I get it from his log in to mine?

Can anyone out there help me?

thanks

Shairon

Hold down ctrl while you launch the program. User your name and password to log on.

Just to be sure, are you saying that you installed Logos on your husband's Windows account, or did you use your husband's Logos ID when you installed the program?

    Hi Rick,

No my husband does not have a log in ID, when I downloaded Logos 4 to my laptop, I did not notice I was in my husbands log in page, so now when I log into my page Logos is not on my desk top. I have to always log into his page in order to work on Logos. I was wondering can I move it somehow over to my log in without uninstalling and reinstalling?

    Thanks for any help!

I may be saying this wrong, it is our individual user pages, so I have to switch users in order to see Logos on his desk top, not mine. I hope I am making since!

Thanks Kevin, but that still only opens in my husbands user page not mine. Logos in on his desktop so loggin into Logos is no problem from his page it just isn't on my desktop when I open my user page.

    To clarify...

Shairon, do you mean that on your computer you have two seperate user accounts. One for your husband and one for you, each with your own My Documents etc. and you inadvertently installed it whilst logged into his user area?

If so an easy, but time consuming, suggestion would be to remove the software an reinstall it on yours, else someone may come up with a more effiicient method! (I don't actually use windows so acan't be more help!)

Logos 4 is installed on a per-user basis in Windows. If you want it accessible in two different Windows User accounts then you have to install it twice.

Thanks for the additional information, I think that Kevin said the same thing I would have in the post directly above this one. You'll have to install it on your "side" of the computer. Most programs will install for all users, or at least give the option, but Logos does not. If your husband's account on the computer is the only administrator account, you'll simply have to set up Windows to temporarily give yourself administrator privileges and install it on your side of the computer as well.

Edit: If you decide to have it installed under both your husband's and your Windows accounts it will install a library folder etc.for each side, which can be quite large, depending on the package and this can take a lot of hard drive space. If your husband does not use Logos, I recommend uninstalling it off of his side and reinstalling it to your side. If you both use Logos, you still will not be able to keep separate note files and such because whenever the server synchronizes your user name it will merge all of the notes under your login together.

You can use Method 2 to avoid re-downloading resources and re-indexing (your 'backup' can be the L4 folder in your husband's account if you have access to it from your login account). When finished login to your husband's account and uninstall the L4 there.
