Underlining? Useful for Future Searches

I understood from a previous thread that Underlining text somehow helps searches.
1] Are we able to search underlined text?
2] And if so, will it work with color underlined text (ie- for blue underlined)?

Hi Ron
You can search for highlighted text - with underlining being a form of highlighting - in two ways.
In a resource, such as a Bible, you can navigate from one highlight to the next.
So, in the example above, if you select "highlight" you can then use the arrow keys to scroll up or down to the next highlight. In this mode, you can't choose which highlights you want to search for.
In the search window you can be much more selective:
This allows you to choose from the highlights which you are currently using in the resource and search for text which are highlighted using them.
The drawback here is that if you don't know the text you are interested in - and just want to search for everything that is highlighted in a particular way - you end up doing a wildcard search which is slow.
Hope this helps

A couple of suggestions. If you start a new palette designated for underlining, you can color code a meaning for a specific color. Such as green underlline means, I agree and red means I disagree or whatever suits your study. You can also make them your highlight shortcut. If you want to search your underlines in a resource other that the Bible then close all other books except the one you want to search in and choose search all open resources under a basic search, otherwise you have to make that book a collection. Then select your highlighting style. If you cant remember a specific word or phrase from the text you want to search, then rather than doing a wildcard search, search a list of common words, such as, and, the, you, but, etc., it quicker than a wildcard search and generally effective. Hope this helps.

Thank you both. These are very helpful. I am continually amazed at how Logos can be more and more helpful in my studies / research.
