Hello,
I would like to see a ProNoun Sensitive Logos that is able to answer a specific question when Asked. For example :
"How many years was it from the time Abraham received the promise to when he Recieved the promise?"
Hello, I would like to see a ProNoun Sensitive Logos that is able to answer a specific question when Asked. For example : "How many years was it from the time Abraham received the promise to when he Recieved the promise?"
Sorry but I don't understand quite what you are asking for ... by the capital on the 2nd "Received" do you mean the fulfillment of the promise? And then is the promise the son or the numerous progeny?
Idea...
Tag these six Questions, : Who? What? When? Where? Why? and How? - to each verse of the bible.
Interpreting prepositions, pronouns, and conjuctions, all based on the most basic rules, searching the Subjects...
E.g. Gen. 1:1In the Beginning God created the heaven and the earth.Logos Tags :Who? = GodWhat? = Created, Heaven, EarthWhen? = (the) BeginningWhere? = N/AWhy? = N/AHow? = N/AWho? = Noun, etc...What? = Subject, Verb, etc..When? = etc...Where? = etc...Why? = etc...How? = etc...For both Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, and English text - Identified on top of Homepage Search Box. (which ever tab is selected is the text it will search)E.g. Question : Did Abraham live in heaven or earth? (verb) (noun) (verb) (preposition) (noun / subject) (noun / subject)Logos will have an exhaustive list in each language of each position of every word. So...Man, and Abraham could rest in the same category. Searching for the nouns (interpreting the parts of speech per the rules of language) of the question, to all verses containing abraham and man (and all others in the noun/subject categories = Utilizing the Power Of LOGOS Then the word "Live", the active verb, will also be searched in verses, thus diminishing the results greatly.Example Verses : That could be found :Genesis 6:6And it repented the LORD that he had made "man on the earth"- (man - Identified with Abraham per noun settings in conjuction with search request, as well as earth.)
...
And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his "place". (identified with live, heaven, and earth)
And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and "dwelled" between “Kadesh and Shur“, and sojourned in “Gerar“. ("dwelled" - identified with live, heaven, and earth, while "Kadesh and Shur & Gerar" - identify with earth - per Logos predetermined settings - all in the same verse)There are many more verses concerning earthly and heavenly residence in Abraham’s case, but this sets the General Idea Platform.Linking the Noun (in this case Abraham, with all references related to live - such as : place, dwelled, earthly cities, or reference to heaven allows us to get a beginners start of where and how things happened in the Bible. This will more than triple Logos sales, seeing as how extremely few come in as Scholars. This is just the beginning of what is possible with this. Using the technology already implemented in Logos search, with the theology of Google search, we can truly lead the rest of the world into Bible study, laying a New Standard in connectivity, from the Layman to the Scholar. I truly believe this is the gap Bridge from Layman to Scholar, easing the Beginner in from ground zero.
Let me Know what You think!
Douglas,
I personally do not like this idea.
The more that we tag scripture, the more we relay on a person or a team of people's opinions about scripture than on the Holy Spirit. For an example, L4 uses Mackie's literary genre coding when it comes to scripture. Is the only way to tag the genre of scripture? No, but how many people verify the genre that this report produces?
The more we tag, the more we rely on computers, the less we rely on the Holy Spirit.
Well, this is Computer software, lol
Don't worry friend everything will be perfect once our salvation is complete in Heaven.
Friendly,
Douglas
Friend,
You know I think you came up with a good idea!
Maybe Logos could incorporate a feature that allows us to switch between coding systems at startup.
Sound good?
Just on a more direct note, did you have any conflicts with any of the who, what, whens, or wheres, mentioned in my examples?
I tried to list only what the Bible said. Of course this would differ according to what translation or language you were reading probably.
Sincerely.
P.S. I should have left out the Why? and How?...
How does it Sound Now?
With Love,
I simply do not like this idea.
This could come from my theology of the Holy Spirit, my understanding of scripture, from my history of software development and knowledge that what you are asking is very difficult to do, or a combination of all of the above.
Hello
I was aiming for simple Bible facts with this idea, not bible theology. In other words Persons, Places and things, in Logos, tied to each verse for Question recognizability.
I'm sorry you did not understand.
Thanks!
You cannot separate theology from scripture. The theology that a person uses to see and to experience the world also affects how the person reads and how the person understands scripture.
For an example, I do not believe Adam and Eve were the first two people on this planet Earth. Therefore, any focus on something that could fall into the category of who/what/when/where ("biblical fact") category completely misses the point on why this myth is part of our scripture.
I'm sorry you feel that way.
Thanks.
Why the apology?
Douglas, are you spying on our offices? :-)
You're going to like Logos 5... And while I can't say more, I can say that you should look at what Peter Venable talked about at BibleTech:
