We're still looking into it.

I'm hitting this error for the ESV. I have an iPhone developer license so it's possible for me to get in there and look at log messages etc. If you want me to test anything I would be happy to help. Thanks!

Still having issues with the 2 Peter resource.

Today, I was able to download resources that were coming up with the error for the past weeks. I did limit the downloading to 2 resources at a time.
Windows 7, Nexus 7

Worked for me this evening.

I'm still having the same Unable to Download error with the following resources:
- NRSV
- New Nave's Topical Bible
- New Topical Textbook (Torrey)
- Where to Find It in the Bible
What should I try or do now?

I don't think that the particular books matter. I have tested this many times today, and I can sometimes get an "offline" resource to actually become really offline, but usually I can't.
To avoid any problems, I deleted Logos from my first-generation iPhone, then performed a sync with iTunes 10.1.2. Then I re-installed Logos onto the iPhone.
I started Logos, logged in with my Logos.com account, and went to the Library. I selected the ESV in the Library, switched "Available Offline" to "On", and saw the network activity, presumably the resource is downloading. I pushed "Done" to go back to the list of resources in the Library, and saw that there is now a "down-arrow" badge on the ESV book cover icon. I suppose that means it is in the process of downloading? Network activity stops. I select the resource to Read it. It shows up fine. I go back to the Library to see if the badge has changed to an "Airplane" badge but no it is still the "down-arrow".
I exit the Logos application, go to Settings, and activate Airplane Mode. Then I go back to Logos. The only resource available is the included ASV (with an airplane badge).
I exit the Logos application again, go to Settings, and de-activate Airplane Mode. Then I go back to Logos. My ESV resource is no longer "Available Offline", the "down-arrow" badge has disappeared from the book cover icon, and when I try to set "available offline" there is a brief bit of network activity and then the "Unable to download" error dialog pops up.
I've tried all day with various resources, and at one point I was able to get a number of books loaded (airplane badge), but I can't do that now. Once I get the "Unable to download" error, the only way to recover is to wipe the Logos app, sync with iTunes, and re-download it again. But each time I do that, I hit the error with a different resource, or perhaps the same one again.
(I tried signing out of Logos.com in the More...Settings panel of the Logos app, and then signing in again. But that does not clear the "unable to download" state. The only way out is to wipe the app and start over.)
So: I don't know how the book goes from "down-arrow" badge to "airplane" badge state. And until it gets to "airplane", as soon as you leave the Logos app, when you come back you are unable to use the resource offline, and can't set it to offline without hitting the "unable to download" error.

Wonder which network being used ? (phone or Wi-Fi) Also wonder about screen lock and push notification settings ? Likewise wonder about other applications running ? (when using Logos on iPad, have learned to double click home button so can close multi-tasking applications along with using AC adapter to keep WiFi network connected - tends to disconnect after half hour on battery)
When downloading Logos resources to iPad, after tapping ON for available offline and tapping done, watch network activity and down arrow - after down arrow changes to airplane, then go to settings, switch to Airplane mode - back to Logos library to verify resource in list and can be opened. Have downloaded many resources one at a time, then verified offline library reading. Thankful for split screen with side-by-side scrolling.
From forum http://community.logos.com/forums/t/28865.aspx - learned to check iPad log files after iTunes sync.

Well, I'm getting the error within seconds of selecting the resource for download.
Couldn't help but notice that your screenshots seem to indicate that device is in airplane mode.

iPhone first-generation ("2G"). iOS version 3.1.3, no other apps are running (because iOS 3 doesn't support background apps). WiFi connected to a 7Mbps DSL connection. Tested with the phone docked (powered through the dock connector) and stand-alone. Full battery. The Logos app is not allowed to "sleep" or "auto-lock" during these tests. I did not receive any push notifications during these tests.
I don't think that the logs mentioned in the link http://community.logos.com/forums/t/28865.aspx are relevant, as that talks about crash logs. The Logos app is not crashing. It's just not letting you use the resources offline.
Thanks for prompting me to supply better debugging information!

Just adding my name to this list of people struggling and frustrated by this. I am using the iPad version. Purchased the complete NICOT/NICNT set and the Bakers NT Commentary set a couple of days ago. Started downloading them to my iPad to use in offline mode. Some worked. Some didn't. But once they didn't work they appeared "hung" so that going back and trying to download later generated an immediate error - the same error as shown in the screen shot by another poster. Very frustrating! And, no, I don't want to deinstall and reinstall and need to re-download everything. Not unless I know it will work.

Wonder about connecting iPad to iTunes - sync - look at logs => http://community.logos.com/forums/t/28865.aspx
Also wonder about disconnecting iPad from AC, powering off iPad (press and hold home button until red power off slider appears - slide to power off - wait several minutes), connect AC adapter (should power up iPad), follow by launching Logos and retry changing one resource offline mode to ON - wait for airplane icon before changing another resource offline mode.
Observation: forum includes download crash issue with logs => http://community.logos.com/forums/t/29153.aspx (noticed low memory error logs that coincided with Logos 1.6.2 crashing after downloading resource for offline use)

Same problem here, appr. half of my resources will download, half will refuse. What does not work one day, may download the next. No logic at all. Would be happy to hear what Logos wizards have been able to do on this very painful and expensive issue. After all, reading online costs a fortune on data transfer costs and is teasingly slow.

Today I deleted the Logos app from my phone, then downloaded the new Logos iPhone app version 1.6.3 in iTunes. I synced with my iPhone, then removed my phone from its dock.
I was able to download all of the resources that I have tried before, and there was no problem!
To test the offline resources, I put my iPhone into "Airplane mode", no network connection, then started the Logos app again. All of my offline resources showed up fine. I've tested a few of them and they work just great with no network connection. This is a first for me.
THANKS VERY MUCH for resolving this issue! [:D]

I am having the same issue on my iPad. Connected to AC power, lock time set to NEVER, WiFi connection very strong, left it running all night to download and had four books not downloadable. (Holman Atlas / Guide / others I cant recall).
Offline reading is a must for me. I wish for an easier way to sync resources for offline use, but moreover, am eager for this method to work without issues.
Looking forward to the update mentioned earlier in the thread.

I am going to resort to this and add them back one at a time. [:'(] two days work down the drain.

Having uninstalled the app from my iPad, I opened iTunes and downloaded it and synced. So ASV is the only book OFFLINE.
I decided to try and install the "Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible" only, and it failed after about 15 minutes.
Help
I am at the end of my tether. Contemplating wiping the iPad and starting all over.
EDIT: I did decide to restore my iPad to factory settings. I have now reinstalled Logos again and just tried to make the NKJV bible my first OFFLINE book. After about two minutes I received "Error loading book - Logos could not load the specified book"
I don't understand why I am having so much difficulty with this. Logos IS my primary reason for having an iPad.

Thanks Dave for your response. It may not warrant me doing so now.
I spent the day at a friends workplace where they have a fibre optic internet connection and it is blazingly fast. It took me all day to download the books I wanted - fingers crossed I will never have the sign out problem.Interestingly, when at home, I can use the iPad App Store on the device, and it sucks down a hefty app (i.e. Pages 51.3MB) in a matter of a minute or so...but for whatever reason, my bandwidth had major issues with downloading the books. I am happy to say I have most of the reference works on my iPad that I need for now.
