Finnish Bible

It's great you have the 33/38 version, but nowadays not many people use it anymore. There is an official translation from year 1992 that is widely used. They have it as an online-bible and it's in the MacSword app for free, but it would be great to get it integrated in Logos also.
The 92 version is also through the Finnish Bible society,
Thanks!

Yeah all hail to Tommi's idea. I think that quite many finnish logos users are longing for this newer translation. There is also coming at the end of this year "Bible to the people" (Raamattu kansalle) translation, which would be nice in logos too.Thx.

Yes, I have many friends in Finland and for all of them - and you [:)] I say, yes, we need this translation in Logos. [Y]
As I say again and again: Logos, please, we need all the modern European translations in Logos. We can read English books, use English Original Language resources, but we need Bibles in our native languages.

Yes, 92 -version is good. This is the preferred and modern translation that is in active use in all but the most conservative churches in Finland. While I'm happy that the 33/38 (aka. "the old translation" or "vanha käännös") can be used and is a useful word-per-word translation (for study-purposes only), for sermons there is a need to communicate to the post-modern man.
All the main churches use it primarily, the Logos should have it.

Hi! Logos definetly should have the Finnish 1992 (KR 1992) translation available (and other modern translations in different languages).
While waiting for KR 1992, I'm planning to make old Finnish Bible translations as Personal Books for Logos4 (PBB). I have electronic texts for Biblia (1776) with OT apocrypha, 1642 Bible and Agricola's 1548 New Testament, all of them are in Public Domain. I also have KR 1938 OT apocrypha. I can easily code the basic Bible text. If someone likes to help me (make chapter names and ingresses, etc.), please contact me. All you need is Finnish language skills and Word or other word processor that saves in docx-format.
I also opened a Finnish thread for Finnish resources: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/36329.aspx
Faithlife Connect + several Base Packages + Luther's Works, etc.

With those minor limitations, I would imagine that you will be inundated with offers. [;)] I don't know how many who are literate in Finnish are on the forum, but I would imagine the number would be somewhat similar to those who read and speak Czech -- not many. Well, good luck.

Thanks! I made the milestones in Excel, it was the easiest way. Though I still need to check some verses manually. But that file is very helpful for other purposes.
I already got some answers in the thread I opened (linked earlier in this thread), so it seems we'll get some PBs in Finnish. But still we need the Finnish 1992 translation.

Hi,
I am trying to build a Romanian Bible and I understand you have started working on a Finnish version. I need help with the format for making a Bible and I have no idea where to start. Can you help me with that?
Thank you,George

Does anyone know if there is any plans to make the 92 translation available in Logos and when? Is there something that we, as Finnish Logos users, could do to help make it happen? I find my self constantly in need of this bible-version and having it in Logos would make my workflow so much faster, please!

We could make the Finnish Bible as PB, but that doesn't actually solve the problem, because the search functions and linking with other material wouldn't work the same way. Please Logos, give us some Light regarding this matter. Is there something we can do ourselves?

I hope there's something happening sooner or later: I got a "Finland user survey" from Logos today where they asked hints for marketing in Finland. To get bigger markets in Finland definitely requires that there's the Finnish KR-1992 translation for Logos.
I also made a group for Finnish Logos users in Faithlife (a portal of Logos): https://faithlife.com/finnish
