NIV84

Hi,
I just purchase Leader Library (KF). It has NIV but it does not have NIV84. Is it automatically upgrade the library? Thanks

I believe that the 1984 NIV is only "included" if you had it before the KF level. IOW the NIV 2011 has replaced the 1984.

I guess so. Thanks Mr Thomas.

I've upgraded my package on L4 and now have the NIV 2011 and NIV84. Is there any way to get NIV 2011 on Logos 3? (I use this more than L4.)

Hi Michael
Have a look at Kevin's suggestion at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/712/222100.aspx#222100

What to do if we want to go the opposite direction, and banish NIV2011 and retain only the NIV84?
(NIV- 'nearly inspired version')

I think I found my own answer. Fortunately, L4 didn't replace NIV84 in my list of prioritized resources, so I can just ignore the NIV2011 version. (I think.)

Doc B, in L4 if you want to eliminate/ignore a resource you can "hide" it.
Hiding a resource will also actually remove it from your Hard Drive and save a bit of space if that's ever a concern for you.
In order to hide the resource please see the directions here: Hiding Books

Can you tell my how you did this? I see in my version of L4 that it automatically updated to NIV2011 and as far as I can tell, it eliminated NIV84. Is there any way to retrieve the older version? Thanks.

Actually it has not replaced it. If you had NIV84 in the first place it is still there. Once you own a book in Logos you own it. End of story.
The NIV84 can be found in your Library still. Type this in your Library to see it: type:bible niv

Isaac,
Welcome to the forums! Logos shouldn't have eliminated any book you previously owned. It probably was renamed in your library to differentiate between it and the new NIV. Try typing NIV84 into your library. If it isn't there check your hidden resources in the program settings. If it still isn't there you should contact customer service/tech support you might have a problem with your licenses that only they can correct.

Welcome [:D]
Wondering if indexing complete ? When upgraded Logos base package from LE to KF, noticed NIV was renamed to NIV84 (yellow cover) and NIV (blue cover) resource added.
Wiki page => http://wiki.logos.com/Hiding_Books has hiding and restoring books. Can check if resource(s) hidden.
Keep Smiling [:)]

Actually the NIV84 has the blue cover and the NIV 2011 has the yellow cover.

Thank you, and thanks for all the input from the rest of you. It's clear NIV84 does not exist in my database. I had to reinstall L4 from scratch recently so I bet that L4 only downloaded NIV2011 during the re-installation.

If you owned it before, you should have it now.

As Richard said, if you owned it before, you should now. What package do you have? When did you order it (i.e. this year? 2 years ago?). The NIV84 was phased out of base packages per Zondervan's request. Unless you ordered a base package prior to its removal, you will not have it. Unfortunately, this is the case for me.
If you do have a license for the NIV84, and it is not "hidden," you should contact Logos customer service during office hours.

I have the gold package, received this year. Logos informed me by email that I should have NIV84 in my package, so I'm going to call them next week to find out what we can do. Thanks again for all the suggestions.

I could be mistaken (it has happened before [:)]) but I think that if you purchased the gold package THIS year, you will not have the NIV84. I think the email you received is in error. You can read the announcement about the change in base packages HERE.
