If you hide a book in Logos 4, I would like it to be hidden on the iPhone too.

I am a Logos 4 user and like it so far. My question is why dosn't all the 31 free books show up on my iPhone?

You can download the engine for free and start using V4 with your current library. No waiting for fundes needed.

Could someone please tell me where I can go to download the free Logos V4 engine?

Logos 4 / iPhone integration is a feature of Logos 4 base packages. Downloading the Logos 4 engine isn't enough to enable your Logos 4 books to work on the iPhone. You need to purchase a base package, or crossgrade or upgrade to a base package. (The "Minimal Crossgrade" is enough, and is $69.95.)
If you just want the 31 free books, create a Logos.com account and sign into it via the iPhone.

This is an additional point regarding the need for use offline. When I am at church, as good time to get to use the iPhone, I switch it to Airplane Mode so I do not get any ringing or signals sent through. Even if the phone just vibrates during a nice small group prayer it is quite noticeable. Airplane Mode avoids all of that. But then it also makes Logos stop working.I understand licensing concerns, though I would hope the agents of these concerns might understand that when I am out and about I do not take my desktop with me. I am not at home using the version there. So the bottom line is that I am the one reading the resource, whether at home or out, I think I should have access to it.
Anyway, it is a great start and I like the effort so far so keep up the wonderful work of making the Word of God more accessible. Thanks

I installed LOGOS on my iphone before I updated to Logos4. now that I have Logos 4, the phone is nor recognizing the books. When I do a search for things like the NET Bible or several other assets that I can access via my account on my computer, they don't show up in Logos on my iphone. I've double-checked my account. information in the Logos app on my iphone and it's accurate. What do I need to do to get it to sync with my Logos 4 account? I see threads that say it's automatic, but so far I don't see that it is.
Thank you

John, not all your books will show up in the iPhone app. As the FAQ says, there are about 2,000 books available for the iPhone (out of our 10,000). We are working on a creating a list of all titles that you can access on the iPhone (see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/5469.aspx) but don't have that right now. Likely the reason you're not seeing a title is that we do not yet have licensing to put it on the iPhone app yet. The best way to check and see if you are getting your books is to open your library and then click the library tab in the upper section:
Then click on the "more books" button:
If you have more than 61 books (or can click the "more books" more than 3 times) then you are pulling in the additional resources from your Logos 4 package.
Hope that helps.

To John Livesay: Hi, you can download from here http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LDLS4Installer/Logos4Setup.exe
I hope it works for you.

I counted, just to see how close my list was to 61. It totals 149 books! I do not recall that I ordered all those books! I have the Leader package, but have been thinking about upgrading to the Scholar. If I am 55 now, I will probably be 105, before I can read all those books! Yep, definitely fun. I think I will buy some more......
But then, not all my collection is even on the list yet, either.

The biggest disappointment for me with the iphone app is no access to NA27 or NA26. Am I missing it? The app is of hardly any true value to me without one of them, however with them and morph it would be wonderful.

this is so stupid i can hardly believe it, it dosent work on ipod unless you are online, but when you read all the news on it, it sounds like it does, if one can get on line then use the computor. I never dreamed in a million years there would be not even a book , a bible to download and use. I just purchased a ipod 64gig to download and find out i am back to my palm and my old bible software. what a sap to think logos would have figured out a way to download a bible from my silver collection so i could read it. But i think someday ages or some other software will begin to find a way to do it, i dont think logos will ever because they are running with this new software, which is very good for the computor but no good what so ever for handhelds and they wil busy with that not worrying about hand helds. But i do wonder about the "free books" you get for signing up someone said you could download them to bookshelf and use them. i never did get them because i was signed up already and someone said well you have them already in logos, so another scam, if i had them then it isnt a free set that i just got....wow...who to believe these days...i have to go , my palm is charged and i have to read my nelson sofware in it .

not some of the books can be read off line, NONE OF THE BOOKS can be read offline, they never were intended to be read off line, you said your self, so dont try and lead people on, NONE OF THE BOOKS can be read off line and the bible reading dosent work either, not jus for me but others on the blog . So just say that you cannot use the sofware offline on the ipod. Dont miss lead anyone else.

You are right that this is a big disappointment. But until they do get it going, there are plenty of alternatives that do allow you to download and read bibles offline so search the app store for Bible and you will get a least half a dozen that are free and have some good content. Also the free ones allow you to add on books for a fee.

While you cannot "download them to the bookshelf" they are viewable when you have an Internet connection. Are you saying that when you are online, you cannot view any books? If so, it could be because you have not registered, have not properly logged in, or you do not have Logos 4.0 upgrade or crossgrade which costs a minimum of $69.95. The iPhone app is an extension of this new program.

Thank you. I do see now. I was expecting to see the other books in the bookshelf and, yes, I made that assumption that something like the NET Bible would be among the 2,000 approved titles.
I have to say that Logos 4 on the computer is extremely awesome. I'm truly impressed and excited about the improvements. The iphone app, though, is currently really difficult to use and so limited relative to other iphone Bible apps, it's really hard to utilize currently. With the slowness even on wireless of having download only and the lack navigability. I'm afraid I'm very disappointed. This was why I updated, but in practice I am finding it nearly unusable mainly do to how hard it is to navigate to a book and then how slow it is once I get to it.
Sorry for being brutally honest with my opinion re: the iphone app. The desktop version, though, is amazing if now outright revolutionary.
Thank you,
Scott

Could the ability to lock the screen from rotating be added in one of the future updates? I really like how the kindle app utilizes this feature. I like to read laying down and it always rotates on me.

Maybe you should put the iPhone in the right spot and then rotate yourself! [:D]

Don,
Logos clearly says that the software is for an iPhone, which is different from an iPod. I don't think they mislead anyone. Some people just don't know the difference between an iPod and an iPhone and that confused them a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if the software became available for the iPod and picked up through wifi. But Logos has a lot on their plate right now. They are released things early so that some people can use it. Unfortunately not everyone can at this time, but something is better than nothing.

The app is available for the iPod Touch currently through WiFi. As Bob has said in another iPhone forum post, "offline access is in our plans."

Man that's two posts in a row that I accidentally mislead people on. Maybe I should stop posting!
Does the Logos site mention that you can get the app through an iTouch?

We do mention iPod Touch in multiple places, including http://www.logos.com/iphone. However, we state that it does require internet connection http://www.logos.com/iphone/support (question 4).

Maybe Logos could add the iPod touch (with wifi access) to "The world's most popular Bible software is now available in the palm of your hand -- on the iPhone."

I am also a Palm Pre Web OS user and would love access via web or a Pre app. The pre has lots of things going for it over the iphone...just not 16 million of them out there yet.

Go to http://library.logos.com on your Pre (or Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, etc.) to see our mobile web app.

AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
Bob,
Logos really needs to take Andrew's comment to heart and get us book content on mobile devices. I have tons of Logos books that I would just like to read. I don't need to have links and hooks to other content. I will probably never sit at my computer at home and read these books. I don't have a laptop and even if I did, it would be cumbersome to boot up and read in a great number of locations. Ah, but if my books were on a Kindle, Nook, or whatever e-reader, I could pull them out anywhere, anytime, even if only for 5 minutes while I'm waiting at the doctor's office, etc. This feature for Logos would be HUGE!

Thanks Dave, this is good. I have an Android, maybe Logos will support it as well...

Does Anybody know which bible they are showing on the Logos iPhone
website hat lets you tap-and-hold on a word and then it shows you the
underlying Greek or Hebrew word with it's parsing and morphology????
also, is there anyway to access a Hebrew Old Testament texts (the BHS
would be nice)??0 -
The BHS is available if you have purchased it, and does popup with the morphology and parsing. The Greek texts available (of which there are many) don't include the UBS4 or NA27 though.

If you have purchased a Logos 4 package then you will get this functionality in any Bible that has a reverse interlinear. Currently the only free reverse interlinear is for the Lexham English Bible.

How do I get my personal reading plan on my iPhone Logos app? All I see is a sort-of-generic one.
I realize that I am in the last month of a read-through-the-year plan, but it would still be nice to be able to access it on my iPhone.'

I realized comparing my library to the 3000 books available, that there's a lot that does not show up in my iPhone logos app, when it's supposed to be available? Am I missing something?
