Even though the uservoice (http://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-4) site doesn't appear to indicate that it will, it's kind of a mixed answer. SFL depends upon the compiling function of PBB so one will naturally follow the other.

That's my assumption too, but with the changes being made to PBB I suppose it's possible that Sermon File will not depend on PBB as much as it did in 3.x.

I hear you Chris.
I simply can't remember whether it's a figment of my imagination or if I really did read a developer stating during the planning phase that they would still work together.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

So now that we know the hand is to the plow and there is no turning back, how about moving some of those PBB UserVoice votes over to the MyTag Manager :-)

I kind of coined that word accidentally. I was trying to type Woohoo, and it came out Woohoot (my fingers were thinking Woot at the same time). Was going to backspace to fix it, but decided I liked it so I left it. Anyway, turns out I'm not the first who has done it. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Woohoot

Wonderful news on PBB.
Yes, let's get the MyTag Manager going. The first step should be easy enough as seen here.

Any word on price? How much was it for L3?
0 -
Honestly, I'm not sure how much I will use PBB. I didn't use it much in L3 but we'll have to see what treats Logos has in store for us. So far they have exceeded my expectation for most of the new features they have implemented, page view and printing come to mind.
BUT I am very excited for how this will bless my good friend and brother Thomas Black. I know you are salivating. :-)

Remember, Bob said that we will be able to publish fully compatible books with PBB. Cannot find the statement in the forums.

I'm sure it's been repeated in the forums somewhere, and I'm not going to go looking now, but it's also here: http://www.logos.com/4/missingfeatures:
Notice they updated the "missing features" page and it looks like we'll be getting all of this within the next quarter.

I use PBB a lot and are looking forward to get it in L4. I hope this will be a possible work around (with a lot of work) for me to read my preferred swedish bible on my iPhone until Logos will compile my bibles to Logos 4 file format.
Lynden, is this what you are looking for:

Thanks Ebbe, that is it. I am very interested in the idea of selling resources original workss, as Bob P said. We can write, and sell, lend, give etc..
George, MJ,. Start writing. Mark looking forward to supporting your efforts in NT research.
Now what about pricing and marketing schemes?

Are the Still Truth books like John Gill going to be available again?

I know from Thomas that that's very much the hope, but there's no confirmation from Logos yet on how sharing will work.

It's a great question Michael, and as Mark said, I sure hope so! The one caveat is that we have already been told (somewhere on the forums) that since the New L4 version of PBB will be on par with in house books in functionality that they may need to be recompiled at the very least in order to unlock all the potential.Michael Lyman said:Are the Still Truth books like John Gill going to be available again?
This may not be as simple as you may hope since I know for a fact that certain contributors of PBB's housed on my site no longer have the source files. [:o] That said, we may be able to work around that in other ways. For right now we'll just have to wait and see what develops. Even though waiting can seem unbearable, it's good for you.

I never used PBB, but I certainly see the value of integrating material into Logos. RC and Gold couldn't come fast enough for this feature into L4. I suspect many L3 holdouts would finally begin to migrate with it.

I have all of the source files for the PBBs I parked on Stilltruth and will probably need some help recompiling them when the time comes.

Great to hear that Bill. [:D] I'm sure that by the time PBB makes it out of beta and into gold release that there will be adequate documentation etc... If I was being cynical, I'd add "…that was written by users during the beta period"!

Good news!
It will be excellent news if PBB outputs full books that are 100% Logos resources, rather than the slightly neutered ones that L3 created. I'd want to be created full Logos resources that are treated like any other and can be fully integrated, otherwise I'm not really interested in owning it, but I do miss some of my old PBBs.

Richard, that is/was at least the trend of thinking when PBB was first discussed for L4, "No more second class citizens."

Hi Thomas - I think I remember that being the line taken, now that you mention it, from a dim and distant forum post.
I hope we also have the tools to fully cross reference our "works" to make them as useful as possible. My own notes in MS Word are heavily linked to Logos resources. No plans to create a new lexicon or commentary as yet, but who knows
I wonder also if there will be public and private versions like L3?
