Logos likes to dominate my computer…

I have to click the minimize button to go to open programs other than Logos. Since there is no minimize button in Reading View I have to exit out of Reading View and THEN click the minimize button. Clicking on an applications icon in the menu bar will not bring that application to the fore either. All I hear is Oink! Oink! Oink! Oink! Oink!
I am using Windows 7 Starter on a Pentium 4 machine with 2 GB of memory. I know, I know! Seems I'd rather buy Logos resources instead of a new computer. Now I have my heart set on the EEC. At that point I'm going to have to take a bit of a break on both Logos and technology expenditures it would appear. Don't cry for me Argentina. Just help me troubleshoot my current difficulty—PLEASE!

In Reading View, can you use the Windows key on your keyboard to access the Start Menu, and then switch to other applications in the task bar?
If not, I wonder if it's an issue with Windows 7 Starter - there's a lot that Starter can't do that other flavours of Windows 7 can do.

Michael,
That's definitely not normal behaviour for Logos 4! Clicking on open programs in the menu bar will bring them to the fore on my system, which is a Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. Maybe posting a Logging File could help, so other forum members can figure out what's wrong with your installation.
Edit: Mark might be right it could have to do with the Starter Edition you're using.

I am using the Windows Starter Edition as I type this message. You are correct that there is no "minimize" button on the Reading View - but you can use <Alt>-<Tab> to switch to other running programs or to switch to the desktop. Once another program is running, Reading View does sit on top of the desktop, but behind the newly opened program.

Still using Windows Starter Edition - I have not developed the habit of using the Windows key to start other processes or programs. However, when I just did, all seemed to work well. I saw both the start menu and the program menu at the bottom of the screen - from which I could have started other programs.

<Alt>-<Tab> doesn't provide the switch. This condition exists when in Reading View, Standard View as well as from my Logos Home Page.

Does it work when Logos is closed? What about when Logos is minimised?

Yes, it works just fine when Logos is closed. I think it works too when Logos is minimized.
Confirmed: <Alt>-<Tab> works when Logos is minimized.

I am saying that it does work when in Reading View - all the work I mentioned in the previous posts was done in Reading View with Windows 7 Starter Edition.

Even other Logos floating panels are not accessible until the minimize button is clicked from one of the 'main' Logos views.

This sounds really frustrating, Michael - maybe someone from Tech Support could clear things up whether this is normal behaviour in Windows Starter or could provide a solution for this?

Gloria in Excelsis Deo! Things are working correctly today.

Good to hear, Michael! Sounds like it was only a temporary problem that can be solved by re-starting your system - that sometimes works miracles!

I'm sure I've had many restarts with the same results. There's definitely some buggy/incompatibility thing going on. Trouble is I don't see that I'm doing anything any differently today. So I still have no clue as to what could be causing the problem.
