Well, I don't know if this is possible or not, but I thought about it after having a bad dream: "My laptop getting stolen!!!"

In my dream, I really didn't like the fact that someone else could be using my investment for free - I don't care if they will supposedly have the opportunity of benefiting from it (sorry for sounding selfish).

So here it is: Is there a way Logos could disable the program in "my stolen laptop" by maybe changing the e-mail address one uses to sign in? Or what if L4 could serve as a "lo-Jack" type of device to find out where my laptop is and track down the thieves.

I don't know, something to disable the program so nobody else will get to use it for free.

Any ideas?

Since the login uses your password, I suspect changing your password on Logos.com will change the Laptop's ability to access the software.

Then again, let them log in, maybe they'll check out Exod 20:15 and bring it back.

yeah, what a great idea--He might even feel compelled to bring back your laptop! Then you could become a Logos Ambassador and sell him on a new base package and make a nice commission!

For PC, I would suggest using Truecrypt's full disk encryption. It's available for free. For Macs, the Filevault feature would do the job. Beware though that Filevault doesn't play well with TimeMachine. Prey is an application I hear about a lot for tracking down lost/stolen Macs, too. Google is your friend.

The bigger problem is that they may delete all your notes and stuff, which would then sync to Logos servers, which means that when you've bought your new computer, redownloaded and reindexed, all your work would be gone! At least that's how I understand it.

That would happen only if they opened Logos to delete the data and then allowed it to synch with the servers. If they just deleted files from the computer, the data on the Logos servers would remain.
