I was sent an email by someone who'd read a recent article on Accordance's blog, demonstrating how Accordance could pick up some interesting themes by examining key words. It used 2 Samuel 11 as an example, and the blog post is an interesting read. But the question to me was: can you do this in Logos? I thought the answer might interest others, so have posted it here.
First, the post suggests highlighting certain words related to 'washing'. Logos obviously has it's own highlighting feature, so this would be straight forward in Logos. However, because Logos has reverse interlinears, I'd probably do this with a visual filter on the underlying Hebrew rather than manually highlighting individual words. That would ensure I wasn't missing anything in the English translation.

The second part of the blog post refers to an Analysis view which can be used to show how frequently certain words appear. Logos can do this too (and in far more detail than Accordance). However, I imagine Accordance is significantly quicker than Logos (it took four and a half minutes in Logos). Wildcard searching in Logos in painfully slow, and although there's been some improvement in 4.2a, much more improvement needs to be made.
Anyway, despite the slowness, Logos allows you to do this search in a Hebrew text (which is something I'd certainly want to do for the sake of accuracy), whilst also providing the English gloss. Logos would then also allow you to quickly create a visual filter which would enable to see these repetitions very easily in the English Bible.

Finally, it's worth mentioning Logos' Interesting Words, which is part of the passage guide. This tries to automatically highlight words of interest, based on how prominent they are in this passage compared with the Bible more generally. I don't always find the tool helpful, but in this case it did draw my attention to the word remain, which is significant in this passage, I think.
