BUG: Today's Update - Exodus 2 - Passage Guide Crash
I fully downloaded and indexed today's updates. Since the update, Logos crashes immediately after entering a reference into the "Go" box at the Homepage startup. I have turned the homepage off, and crash still happens as a reference search is in progress. Everything worked great prior to the update. This is frustrating!

Understand frustration: to diagnose a crash, please post log files.
Mac Troubleshooting page has How to Report Bugs in Logos 4 Mac section with steps for compressing and posting log files, including link to Logos Log Scribe

Logos4.log file has couple crashes:
1. Layout crash following exodus 2 "GO"
2. Biblical People crash in Passage Guide.
Indexer.Log file has "Indexer was requested to run for a user other than the last logged-in user; exiting now." - wonder if indexing completed for updated resources ?
Wonder about restarting Mac, watch for blue Logos icon to appear in menu bar, wait for blue Logos icon to disappear, then open Logos 4 Mac, followed by exodus 2 & GO. If crash again, please post new set of log files.
Option: while blue Logos icon in menu bar, can open Indexer.log file (by default, file scrolls as lines are written).

I have shut down and restarted several times. The Logos icon in menu bar never appears, which I assume means indexing has completed? After waiting for icon but it never showing I opened Logos, and crash was replicated.

After updating Biblical People resource, can replicate Exodus 2 Crash in Passage Guide section for Biblical People.
Option: Wiki page has http://wiki.logos.com/Using_the_Forum#Editing_or_deleting_posts - suggest editing post to change title to:

Workaround: use exodus 2:1 then GO - in Passage Guide, click triangle to collapse Biblical People. Then can click Home page button and use exodus 2 - GO. With Exodus 2, if click Biblical People section in Passage Guide to expand section, crash will repeat.

The workaround worked. And then the return to homepage, Exodus 2 - GO, Biblical People stayed collapsed. How do I fix the problem though?

After updating Biblical People resource, can replicate Exodus 2 Crash in Passage Guide section for Biblical People.
Same thing happening with my installation of L4 (4.2a SR-2 4.21.5.0905).
Honestly, I wish Logos wouldn't 'provide' us with two bugs coming along with every single 'update' ...

Reported Bug in forum http://community.logos.com/forums/t/31183.aspx - now waiting for Logos to fix Biblical People database so anticipate another resource update soon.

Time to fix bug(s) depends on what needs to be fixed. As a Logos user, have seen some bugs quickly fixed while others take months.
Since this is a resource bug that is already affecting several Logos users, anticipate soon (perhaps later today or this week - depends on XML fix needed for Biblical People resource, may take longer).

I've removed the new Biblical People resource (that's causing the problem) from our servers, so that it can't be downloaded from now on. We'll publish a corrected resource as soon as possible tomorrow morning. (I know this doesn't help customers who have already downloaded it.)

I am a new user L4. This program just keep crashing, update = problem. I really think you guys need to do some testing before release any software/update to the user.

Welcome to the forum - I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with the program.
Whilst I can't do anything practical to help, being a user not a developer, I can, from experience, say that fixes for problems like the one first reported in this thread are very quickly sorted out.
However your problem may not be the same as the one involving the biblical people that started this thread. The users there seem to have found a work round to keep the program going.
Might I suggest that you review Keep Smiling for Jesus's post detailing how to post logs and then start a new thread detailing your particular symptoms. I know that this is a bit of bind but you may be helping countless other users by pinpointing a weakness that can be sorted out for everyone.

The corrected StaticPeopleGraphs.lbsspd resource is now available. It should be a quick download and on its own will not require indexing.

It caused the XML crash. I asked the Mac developers to look at the logs for other issues.

Thanks - after resource update, Exodus 2 on Home Page "GO" did not crash and Biblical People was populated.
