I may have misread something, but thus far, it seems like PNTC on 1 Corinthians endorses "Head covering" for the women.
Personally, I really don't mind if a woman wears a veil or not, but it seems to me that these two great scholars believe women should wear a veil.
I'm getting comfortable with this commentary more and more. I'm still disappointed for the explanation they have on 1 Cor. 7:15, but over all the treatment on 1 Cor. 6:9-11 and other interesting passages is great. When the Bible talks about Homosexuals is not only referring to people who have that sinful life style, but to those who practice it every now and then like the ancient people did. You know, men with wife and kids, but all of the sudden in a party they decided to engage themselves in a one night stand homosexual act.
Man! I can't wait for the next volume to come out. I wonder which one will it be. Here's the list of forthcoming volumes:
Pillar New Testament Commentary
Luke, Peter M. Head
Romans, Colin G. Kruse
2 Corinthians, Mark A. Seifrid
Galatians, D. A. Carson
Pastoral Epistles, Robert W. Yarbrough
1 Peter, Scott J. Hafemann
Revelation, D. A. Carson
By the way, I wonder if they'll throw in for free the new Romans volume by Colin G. Kruse, since we own a volume on Romans by Leon Morris.
Blessings!
Douglas
