NEW ENGLISH BIBLE REQUEST!
Dear Logos
Please can we have the New English Bible (Published in 1961 &1970)
This is British protestant translation that was not bound by traditional wording , and so some of its renderings were fresh and even raw. A good comparison bible.
The scholars F F Bruce and John Stott make mention of it their bible commentaries as do others.
This is the 'missing bible' in the Logos collections.

Just did a search in my Logos for references to NEB and I found 14500! And yet there is no New English Bible in Logos.
Can you beat that George!

I'd like to see it in the fold. One of the better modern translations. Maybe we can get a good pre-pub price on it since it's been superseded by the REB,

I too would love to have the NEB in my Logos library ([Y]), mostly though to make it easier to cut and paste into sermons. I would still prefer sitting in an easy chair with the hard-copy version. That seems a more appropriate way of reading It since it has long been my favorite English reading translation. I think it rivals and in many cases improves on the KJV in terms of the beauty of language. The REB loses some of that but the REB is the Bible in hand most often when I walk through the church doors on Sundays (I have the new SBL Greek NT on my Droid phone for reference when needed).

I am just surprised the REB isn't further along… but I am very happy to see that the NEB is nearly ready to be put under contract… Hopefully a few more will pick up the REB and help it closer to under contract too...
