Libronix libraries and Logos 4

I have the libronix library program with the Seventh Day Adventist commentary and Ellen Whites writings on it, along with the KJV and NIV Bibles. I see an upgrade to Logos 4 would expand my resources. Can I import the SDA and EGW libraries into Logos 4. It would relieve me of a third bible software and streamline my computer. I do all my Sabbath School lessons on the computer.

These resources should download automatically into Logos 4 - just make sure to use the same user ID as in Libronix (which should be the email address you were using when activating your Libronix account).

John, if as it sounds, your SDA commentary and Ellen White's writings are in a Libronix compatible format than the answer is yes, they should carry over just fine. Unless of course they are not true Logos resources and are built with the PBB (Personal Book Builder) engine from Libronix (L3). If they are of the PBB sort you'll have to wait a bit longer.

For now though, I'm assuming you mean one of these collections:

Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary Standard Edition (12 vols.) - Logos Bible Software http://www.logos.com/product/3441/seventh-day-adventist-bible-commentary-standard-edition
Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary Expanded Edition - Logos Bible Software http://www.logos.com/product/9202/seventh-day-adventist-bible-commentary-expanded-edition

Both of which will work in L4.

If you bought them through Logos there should be no problems - If you bought them from H&R you may have to involve Logos support but they will get you up and running

As it is now Wed April 6 2011 and you have not posted back I assume that you had no problem and My post if for future reference (most of the time Logos is better than the other version (hint - make collections maybe by e-publish date (2002)))

(I have a PC version) I tried the import option but it didn't work. Do I need to have Libronix installed and running when I upgrade to Logos 4? In other words, if I deleted Libronix, will I still be able to get the SDA Bible Commentary books downloaded from the internet or uploaded from the old CD's? How do I go about doing this? May have to call customer service. [the disks are a Libronix product] Question: did you have it running in Libronix (Logos 3) when you had Libronix running or did you buy it after removing Libronix? [If it worked on Logos 3 then it should be in Logos 4 - but some users have had to get help from customer service anyway] If you just got it you may need to call customer service to connect the serial number to your account. [That might be easier than reinstalling Logos 3 and matching licenses] {Monday give them a call}

If you synced your licenses in Libronix then Logos4 should know that you have them and, assuming they are on the server and that you are using L4 with the same user ID you used in Libronix, then they should download for you automatically. But all those conditions must be met for this to happen.

If you have Libronix still installed, sync your licenses in Libronix (Tools>Account Management and follow the prompts, ensuring that you are using the same user ID in Libronix and Logos4). Then restart Logos4. It should pick them up.

If not, an alternative is to use the "scan" command. Find your SDA resources on your hard drive (the default location is C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources for a 32bit OS and C:\Program Files (x86)\Libronix DLS\Resources for a 64bit OS). If they are there, type scan C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources (or the 64bit location) into the command bar at the top of Logos4. This should also pick them up for you (if your licenses are synced).

If none of the above works you may need to contact Logos support.

Thomas, you posted this question in another thread. Did you see my reply and attempt to use the Scan command on the CD? http://community.logos.com/forums/t/11675.aspx

Rich's suggestion is similar, but applies to the situation in which your files are still on the hard drive. Either way, if the Scan command does not work you'll need to contact Customer Support on Monday.
