You're a brave soul! Looking at the Amazon writeups, it would definitely benefit from the interconnectivity of Logos resources in tracking down the logic. One of the great ironies in the NT was when Jesus was accused of being 'Beelzeboul', which tracked back to the Ugaritic rider of the clouds. Makes you wonder whether they knew the irony in the images.

Yes! More Mark Smith! (I note his Ugaritic Baal Cycle is now on prepub...)
I sat in on some of his classes at NYU. He's a gentleman and a scholar, with a great sense of humor.

Ben,
I sense that he has a great sense of humor from his blogs etc. Did Mark open any veiled eyes re: pre-exilec vs. post-exilic thoughts about the divine council?

Not that I recall off the top of my head. I sat in on a Ugaritic class, a Judges class, and a Jeremiah class.

Now I see that Smith's Early History of God is in the Eerdman's set http://www.logos.com/product/8643/eerdmans-biblical-resources-series
and a book of his I hadn't been aware of is in the Studies on Exodus series.
