What benefits do v4 resources have over v3?

Good move, and for those looking here for the answer to the question, smaller and better tagging are two of the primary answers.

There is really no inherent advantage as the v3 resources also function in L4:-

some are rebuilt to support additional links to other resources
some are rebuilt to correct defective links
elimination of needless index entries eg. English and Latin words in Greek/Hebrew lexicons

but this could also be done in L3 resources!

L4 resources have a smaller size because they don't carry an index, but the external index that is built for all resources provides the real benefit:-

better search for images eg. #image <location/description>
real word separation eg. x BEFORE 3 words y (3 words is calculated in v3); which leads to
accurate phrase searches because you don't get intervening short words like a, at, be
faster searches (but Bible Search needs some improvement)
