(I haven't made it through the video yet. It keeps stopping, though it's downloaded almost completely.)

My guess is that the server is being overwhelmed by the bandwidth usage on the Logos website. You can download the v.4 engine here: http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LDLS4Installer/Logos4Setup.exe

I would suggest you look at upgrading and getting a package (cos it rocks), but you can download Logos4 engine from http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LDLS4Installer/Logos4Setup.exe

Probably/Possibly/Maybe depends on what you have
While the engine will work with your existing books, we strongly encourage you to consider a base package, which will include lots of content especially designed to work well with Logos 4. The people, places, and things databases, the controlled vocabulary, infographics, maps, etc. are all content resources sold as part of the base package.
You can also consider the "Minimal Crossgrade", which includes just the content resources that make Logos 4 shine.
